Rapid Assault Tactics is a hand to hand combat system developed for U.S. Navy SEAL Team Six aka DEVGRU (Development Group) by Sifu Paul Vunak. Paul is a Full Instructor under Dan Inosanto in Jeet Kune Do Concepts and Filipino Martial Arts and the founder of Progressive Fighting Systems. SEAL Team Six are Tier 1 Operators and are deployed on Special Operations, Counter Terrorism and Hostage Rescue, so this system has been put together with that in mind. It is simple, direct and effective. The concepts of RAT can be applied to any attacker and adapt to the unpredictable nature of a combat situation. The methods of interception, destruction, pressure and termination are taught and then rigorously trained to become reflex actions. RAT is being deployed by SEAL Team Six, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Central Intelligence Agency, Drug Enforcement Administration, Department of Defence and many other military, law enforcement and high profile organisations.
